How It Works
the gentle starter board: 16 cards, 8 pairs of African animals to find from memory.
Objective
Flip cards two at a time and find all 8 matching pairs. Matched pairs lock in face-up. Finish quickly with few misses to maximise your score.
Controls
On your phone
Tap a card to flip it, then Tap a second card to compare — non-matches flip back after a moment.
On desktop
Click a card to flip; click a second card to compare. Same rules apply.
Scoring
With only 8 pairs to track, this is the highest-floor board in the series — clean runs land near the time-bonus ceiling.
Tips
Scoring
Memory Match — 4×4 combines pair-matching efficiency with a decaying time bonus. Misses hurt your multiplier; time hurts it more.
How the score is calculated
Your net pairs (matches minus misses) are multiplied by a time bonus that decays from 1,200 down to a floor of 100:
score = max(0, matches − misses) × max(100, 1200 − seconds × 8)
Worked examples
What ends the round
The round ends when you’ve matched every pair (clean win) or flipped the rock hazard (early end with whatever score you’d locked in). Both submit a score; only a clean win posts your in-game maximum.
